We stock Royal Canin and IAMS dry food along with Whiskas and Felix wet food. If your cat prefers other specific food, or requires a prescription diet from the vets please bring sufficient quantity to cover the boarding period. Meals are served twice a day with fresh water. Elderly cats or kittens can be fed more frequently.
Each of our units has a daily chart to monitor litter tray use, feeding, medication and any other health issues if they arise. This enables us to follow the cats daily well-being and engage veterinary care if required. The Oaks Cattery endeavours to use the owner’s regular vet (pending of Term & Conditions). Veterinary fees for ongoing complaints are charged to the owner. If a new problem arises during boarding, the cattery insurance will cover costs up to £1500.
All male cats over the age of 6 months must be neutered.
All cats entering the cattery must have up to date vaccinations against Feline Flu and Enteritis. The vaccination card must be brought with you on arrival as proof and will be kept and returned to you on collection. All cats must be vaccinated annually, with the annual booster no more than 3 months overdue. If you are unsure at all of your cat’s vaccinations please telephone us prior to boarding to discuss this with us.
It is also requested that cats (including house cats) are wormed and treated for fleas before they are boarded. A charge will be made if necessary to purchase flea treatment from the vets.
If your cat has its own bed/basket or a fleece/blanket with which they are familiar, please feel free to bring this along for them to use. Likewise with special toys or treats that will help them settle in and feel relaxed and stress free for the duration of their stay.
The Oaks Cattery is built and run to the Feline Advisory Bureau (FAB) standards and is annually inspected and licensed by the London Borough of Sutton under the Animal Boarding Establishment Act 1963.
