TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read carefully before bringing your cat to board at the Oaks Cattery. By signing the boarding contract you are giving consent to the Terms & Conditions

 

HEALTH & MEDICAL

Cats will not be accepted for boarding without a VALID and UP TO DATE vaccination for cat flu and enteritis. All cats must be vaccinated annually with the booster vaccination administered no longer than 15 months from the previous vaccination.

Records showing dates of last worming and flea treatments are to be provided also. This will be recorded on the Oaks cattery customer file which is kept with vaccination card when boarding.

Vaccination cards will be retained at the Oaks Cattery as evidence of vaccination for the duration of the boarding period.

Male cats over the age of 6 months will only be accepted for boarding if neutered.

Owners must inform the Oaks Cattery at the time of booking and arrival of any medical history which may affect the cats stay at the cattery, including any pre-existing or recurring medical conditions.

Oaks Cattery reserves the right to contact the owner’s veterinary surgeon to discuss any past or current medical problems in the event of illness or injury.

In the event of illness or injury the Oaks Cattery will refer to the owner’s consent (Boarding Contract) for the preference of contacting the owners or Oaks Cattery veterinary surgeon first and will make reasonable endeavours to contact the owner or the owner’s representative, prior to any treatment deemed necessary by the (Remove the word Cattery) veterinary surgeon.  If contact is not possible treatment will take place based on the cat’s welfare.

If your cat develops a medical condition or suffers an injury whilst boarding at the Oaks Cattery we will be responsible for veterinary fees for up to 30 days, up to a limit of £1500. Any fees incurred over 30 days or £1500 will be the responsibility of the owner.

Any veterinary fees incurred by the Oaks Cattery in the treatment of an historical or ongoing medical condition, will be the sole responsibility of the owner and will be paid in full by the owner.

The Oaks Cattery will charge 50p per mile to the cat owner to facilitate veterinary treatment for such historical or ongoing medical conditions.

Oaks Cattery reserves the right at its sole discretion to refuse admission to any cats showing signs of illness pending veterinary advice.

Any treatment deemed necessary for the cats comfort and well being e.g. worming or flea treatment, will be carried out at the Oaks Cattery’s discretion and shall be charged to the owner.

The Owner also aggresses to Oaks Cattery administering preventative medication given to the Oaks Cattery by the owner to manageable cats However, should there be a risk of harm to cattery staff or to itself, veterinary care may be needed. Except as otherwise set out in these terms and conditions, any veterinary fees incurred will be charged to the owner of the cat.

 

BOARDING

The owner by signing the Boarding Contract is giving consent for cats from the same house hold to share the unit. Cats in multi cats units are monitored to ensure that they continue to cohabit harmoniously. Action will be taken with the signed consent of the owner to provide separate units if cats are showing signs of undue stress. The behaviour of individual cats is monitored and acted upon as necessary.

Boarding rates are charged on a daily basis including the day of arrival and departure and includes food (IAMS/Royal Canin dry and Felix/Whiskas wet), bedding, litter and insurance.

Holding deposits are to be paid on placement of booking.

Full payment is required at the commencement of the boarding period. Cats will not be released to owners until full payment is received by the Oaks Cattery.

Cancellation of/and amendments to the full boarding period within 7 working days of its commencement will require payment of the full boarding fees. Deposits are none refundable.

Provisional bookings will only be held for a maximum of 5 days.

Boarding prices are reviewed annually and revised charges are effective from 1st January. Please check prior to booking for the following year. If you do not agree with any price increase that may affect your booking, you are entitled to cancel the booking without penalty.

The Oaks Cattery will use reasonable endeavours to feed as instructed by the owner. However alternative diets/brands may be fed if the cat is not eating its usual diet.

Cats must be transported in a secure and suitable pet travel carrier.

The Oaks Cattery requires an EMERGENCY contact number for a friend, relative or neighbour should the owner be out of contact. A contact number for a standby collector (if different) should also be provided should the owner be delayed, as we cannot guarantee to be able to board your cat for extra days.

The grooming of cats will be carried out as necessary and it is appreciated if owners bring their own grooming equipment for their cat. However, the Oaks Cattery will not be responsible for grooming any cat that gets distressed or risks causing harm to staff.

Whilst every care will be taken by the Oaks Cattery all belongings are left at the owner’s risk. Any items left unclaimed by owners after two months following boarding will be disposed of.

Whilst every care and precaution is taken with every cat boarded at the Oaks Cattery, the proprietor cannot be held responsible for any illness, disease or death that may occur during boarding.

We reserve the right to vary these Terms and Conditions.
